Our Charitable Funds Programs
Adoption Assistance Agency is the first division of Casa de Socorro, Inc. (house of help and assistance), a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation. AAA is a full-service adoption agency providing pre-placement studies, birth parent counseling, child placements, adoption-related cuddle care (foster care), post-placement services, and post-finalization counseling. We also provide all the social services needed for independent adoptions, stepparent adoptions, and relative adoptions. Our services also include professional counseling for individuals and children, as well as marital and family therapy. We are a Christian-based agency offering compassionate services to all our clients, who come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
The agency’s operating costs, including staff salaries are covered by fees charged for services rendered. Contributions to Adoption Assistance Agency make it possible to assist individuals involved in the adoption process or in need of counseling services.
The ability to use these funds in assisting anyone is subject to the availability of charitable funds.
The Adoption Assistance Agency Charitable Fund is set up to work in the following ways:
Birth Mother Assistance helps meet excess living and medical expenses for birthmothers in need during pregnancy, delivery, and recovery. It is important to give a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy the time, support and counseling she needs to make a thoughtful, life-giving choice for herself and her child. Pressures of time and difficult circumstances, as well as a lack of accurate information can leave a woman vulnerable to choose an abortion she may not want when she lacks the support to make a careful, thoroughly-considered decision for life. Some who choose to consider placing a child with adoptive parents are in such dire financial circumstances that normal adoption fees cannot provide them the opportunity they need to establish a more stable life style. Many of them are parenting other children and the help given to the birthmother not only helps the new baby enter an adoptive home but can also help her provide a more stable life for her other children.
Adoptive Parent Assistance provides grants for families, legal assistance, funds for special needs adoptions, covers agency insurance costs and refunds the birthmother expense fee when the birthmother changes her mind about the adoption.
Grants are available for families that meet qualifying criteria. Many couples find their resources depleted after years of infertility treatment and then decide to adopt. Financial help can make adoption possible for these couples who have exhausted other options for becoming parents.
Legal assistance is allocated to help cover some of the legal expenses for birth parents, modest and moderate-income adoptive parents, and special needs adoptions.
Special needs adoptees include older children, sibling groups, children with physical or emotional problems and children from racial minority groups. Families adopting children with special issues often need abundant assistance from many sources in order to make an adoption plan possible for a precious, special child/children.
When a family is chosen by a birthmother considering adoption, that family pays a fee for a large portion of her expenses. A unique aspect of our charitable assistance is that it allows us to refund the birthmother expense fee paid by adoptive parents when a birth mother chooses not to place her baby. This allows the adopting family the option of working with another birthmother toward their dream of building a family through adoption.
Parent Mentoring is designed to provide informational support and counseling for families during the transition process that accompanies parenthood. This help is accessible for adoptive parents, biological parents, and blended families. We also keep a growing library with useful educational resources.
Counseling Assistance is needed in many circumstances of life. Families and individuals in need of professional counseling may not be able to access the counseling they need due to financial concerns. Counseling is offered on a sliding scale fee according to income, but this fund also permits the use of counseling scholarships to augment the client’s funds to make sure that the amount of counseling that is needed can be available to each client.
Adoption Education allows us to spread the word about the value of adoption. Travel and the expense of materials can be covered so that professionals in medical services, schools and crisis pregnancy centers can learn about the value of adoption as an option for their clients/patients. This training enables them to share accurate information about adoption so that women (and men) making decisions about an unplanned pregnancy have accurate information to make an informed, life-giving choice for themselves and their child.
Remember, our ability to provide for these needs is dependent on charitable donations.
Your donation facilitates ministry in multifaceted ways to promote life-giving choices by supporting and educating those in crisis pregnancies and those involved in working with them, as well as by helping those with loving, waiting arms be able to welcome adoptees into their family for life. You also help individuals and families with crises in life circumstances access much needed help and counseling support. Your donation is tax-deductible.
