Family Sketch
Chris and I have been married for nearly 9 years. Our home is loving, peaceful and always full of laughter. Our four boys are the light of our lives. We home school and are very active with our church. We spend as much time as we can outside: hiking, camping, picnicking and enjoying the beauty all around us! We have one dog and his name is Mortimer. He is a sweet and gentle dog who allows the boys to lay and crawl all over him without complaint. We live within five minutes of both sets of grandparents who can hardly wait to embrace their granddaughter/s. She/they will also have three aunts, three uncles and five cousins, all very excited as well. All of us view the baby/s we will adopt as no different from our four sons. The boys are so excited and pray for their sister/s all the time.
Birthmother/Birthfather Letter
Dearest,
You have been in our prayers for quite a long time and we are blessed beyond words that you are willing to glorify the Lord by creating this adoption plan for your sweet baby. We had discussed adoption even before we were married, thinking we’d like to have three or four kids and then adopt one or two. We were married in 2000 and our first son Caleb was born in 2001, Jaden in 2002, Taye in 2004 and Carter in 2005. After Carter was born, our doctors recommended that we not attempt to have any more children so we took permanent steps to ensure no more pregnancies.
We still feel, however, that our family is not complete. After much prayer and thought, we feel the Lord has shown us that He wants us to grow our family through adoption. We know with all of our hearts that we can bring a new little one into our home through the miracle of adoption and love her! We pray for her and for you every day. Our lives are fully committed to our family and our children receive our fullest attention: from love and snuggles to being home schooled (Jasmine is a stay at home mom). Every evening we have playtime and then study the Bible together as a family. We live in the mountains and have a few acres of land. We enjoy hiking and being outdoors as much as possible. Our favorite way to spend a Saturday is playing outside in the woods with our kids and watching them ride their bikes/cars on our very long private driveway, enjoying popsicles and Chris’s amazing barbeque!
During the week, we have many visits with friends and family as well as outings, the older boys take fencing lessons and piano lessons. We love opening our home to friends and family and do so as often as we get the opportunity. Both of our sets of grandparents live within five minutes away and both families are very involved in our lives. Jasmine’s mother was adopted and both families are thrilled at the idea of a granddaughter!
Chris is an amazing husband and daddy. He is fully devoted to our marriage and to our children. He always puts our needs and wants before his own. He is a man who walks through the door ready to play at the end of the day. He guides our children daily with quick devotions in the mornings and Bible studies and prayer time in the evenings. He is always available to listen to our children no matter how big or small their need to share, even by phone when he is at work! He is currently writing books for our children as well as puppet skits which he performs for our “home group Bible study” and on occasion for our Sunday school class. I can’t even begin to describe the delight in my heart as I watch this amazing man pour out his heart for our own children and for the children we teach in Sunday school at our church. He is passionate about training children up to love the Lord.
Jasmine is a wonderful wife and a loving, caring mother. Her love and affection for our children shines through in everything she does: from the snuffly noses she wipes and owies she kisses to the hugs and kisses she gives out just because she can. I especially love watching them all gathered on the couch as she reads a book to them. She teaches our children the ways of truth and righteousness, but not just with her words but also with her actions. She pays careful attention to their needs and differences, strengthening their weaknesses and providing outlets for their strengths. Our kids adore and love their mother. She makes their birthdays special, their holidays festive, and their days filled with laughter and joy.
Our goal and desire in the adoption of a little girl is simply to love her, protect her, cherish her and raise her up to praise the Lord! I should also mention that Caleb, Jaden and Taye and Carter J all pray every day for their new baby sister and ask often about her. Every single one of our hearts is open and ready to love this baby girl more than words can say!
