Just a little bit about us… We met at our church youth group when we were in high school and we dated for 7 years before we got engaged on Christmas Day 2006. We had our dream wedding in Colorado a year and half later. We have now been married for 8 years and they have been the best years of our lives.
Ricki Says: Let me tell you a little bit about my husband Mike. God truly blessed me when he brought Mike into my life. He is very outgoing, compassionate, giving, and, of course, super funny. He is the hardest working, most dedicated, and loving husband and father I know. He works full time helping people get loans to buy homes. He also loves cooking, camping, hiking, backpacking, and target shooting. He works extremely hard every day all day to provide for us which allows me to stay home with our boys. He also makes me and our 2 boys his number one priority. I have loved Mike since we were teenagers, even though we have both changed a lot, my love for him grows stronger and deeper every day.
Mike Says: Ricki may be my wife, but she is also my best friend. As high school sweethearts, we have watched each other learn and grow and have loved every minute of it. Meeting her at a church youth group was the first sign of God’s plan for me. She has been an amazing supporter of our family’s dreams and goals. Before deciding to stay home with our two boy Ricki always knew she wanted to be a teacher. After Hayden was born, her love of teaching was overwhelmed by her love for Hayden. Now that the boys are getting closer to school age, Ricki is building homeschooling materials to be able to use her Teaching skills with her Mommy skills. In her free time (when she can steal away for a little bit) Ricki loves to camp in the mountains, hike different types of trails, craft decorations and gifts, and bake amazing cakes that not only look pristine, but taste delicious.
We have 2 beautiful boys Hayden who is 5 years old and Noah who is 3 years old. They are absolutely the light of our lives. Hayden is our little Mister Independent. He is a very inquisitive and loves anything to do with learning. He asks about a million questions a day! He also loves to camp, hike, read with mommy, play with Legos and anything else that involves building. Hayden will also be starting Kindergarten soon with Ricki at home. Noah is our little fire cracker! He has been demanding since the day he was born. If he has something to say everyone knows it. He adores his big brother and loves to do anything Hayden is doing. He also loves to play outside, ride his tricycle, read with mommy, play Legos, and play with trains. Both boys also love to play with our 2 dogs Leesha our chocolate lab and Flynn our mostly black miniature schnauzer.
As a family we love to be active. We love to be outside and involved in our church and community when we get a chance. We spend a lot of our time helping with our church youth group and we really consider the friends we have at church to be a part of our family. We also love to spend time in the mountains camping, hiking, backpacking, and fishing (even though Mike never catches anything).
Currently we live very close to both of our families, so both sets of our parents and all of our siblings are very involved in our lives. We even took a beach vacation to Florida recently with both of our parents and some of our siblings and all stayed in the same house! Our boys spend a lot of time with their grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins, and all of our family is very supportive of and excited about us adopting a child.
We have always wanted to adopt a child and God has blessed us with two beautiful boys and we now would love to adopt a baby girl into our family. We are also open to adopting a child of any ethnicity.
We would just like to thank you for taking the time to get to know our family. The decision you are making to place your baby in an adoptive home has to be one that is extremely hard, and we admire you greatly for what you are doing for your child. You must love your baby deeply to be making such a difficult selfless decision.
We want you to know that family is our number one priority and we strive every day to make sure our children feel loved, and are happy and healthy. We both grew up in homes where we felt unconditionally loved and secure, and that is what we will provide for your baby. We also want you to know that Ricki grew up with a brother and sister who were adopted into the family. So our entire family is open to, and strongly supports adoption. In our family your baby will be adored by us, our sons Hayden and Noah, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great parents, great aunts, great uncles, close friends, and our church family. In our family there will never be a shortage of love and support in your baby's life
