Family Sketch

We are Tim and Amber. We are high school sweethearts who have been together since we were 16 years old. After dating for five years and going to college we married and have just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We live in a small mountain community in New Mexico in a house we built that is perfectly suited for a family.
After years of fighting infertility we have decided that the best way to create the family we have always wanted is to adopt a child. We have a family member who was brought into our world through adoption, so we have always thought of adoption as an option for us and we have experience with the beautiful blessings that come to a family through this process.
We like to think of ourselves as a young and energetic couple who are involved in different interests but still find plenty of time for each other. Tim enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, camping, and doing just about anything with his friends and family that can be enjoyed in the cool mountain air. Amber enjoys hosting dinners with friends and family; they call her the family social planner. She also enjoys reading, interior decorating, and ceramics. Together we enjoy going to concerts, spending time with both sides of our families, and walking on the beach. But our most favorite past time is having slumber parties with our niece and nephews. We love having the pure entertainment of watching these kids grow and develop into amazing children.
Tim works as a supervisor at a civil service position where he has been employed for almost 10 years. Amber teaches 5th grade and gets to play with children every day of the school year. We both enjoy our careers and hope to continue down these paths until retirement. Both of us have a college education: Tim has a degree in Land Survey and Amber has a Master’s Degree in Special Education. We both value education and believe that it is an important part of life that helps build a well-rounded individual.
We can be serious, we plan almost everything, and we are really good at setting and reaching goals together. But we are also fun loving, outgoing, and a lot of times spontaneous! We enjoy road trips that deliver us to our relatives’ doors. We are extremely close with both sides of our families and know that they would welcome any child into the family with open arms. With our families, there is never a lack of love or support!
One day our nephew asked us why we don’t have kids yet; before we could answer he explained to us that there are babies sitting on the clouds in heaven just waiting to be born and that we shouldn’t make them wait anymore. So, with his advice, we patiently wait to welcome a child into our home with open arms and all the love in the world that we can give. We hope to one day have several children running up and down our hallway, making constant racket, and creating the warm home that we have always wanted.

Birthmother/Birthfather Letter

Dear Birthparents,
Deciding to place your child into and adoptive home is one of the most honorable decisions a person can make. We are sure that it is a very difficult and trying time for you but we want to thank you for giving couples who have always wanted a child, but have not been able to naturally, a way to build their family.
We have been working toward having children for more than 5 years and are excited about starting the adoption process. We both know in our hearts that this is the right decision. We have a family member who was adopted into our family and know that without him our lives would not be complete. We think of becoming a family member through adoption as a natural occurrence and no different than being biologically born into our family.
We are both positive and upbeat people who enjoy spending time with our families. We both love children dearly. We constantly try to find opportunities to spend with our niece and nephews and know that we will love any child that comes into our home. We hope to provide children with a loving, warm, caring, and supportive home.
We also know that both sides of our families would welcome any child into the family. Both sides know that we have started this process and are not only supportive but very excited to meet the new member of their family.
We promise to do our best, every day, to give your child the best life we could possibly give them. We want to thank you for considering us for this honor and hope that you also believe that we are the right people to give everything we have to your child.

Sincerely,
Tim & Amber
